Chang Wanquan, member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and director of the General Armaments Department (GAD) of the PLA, stressed on October 18 at the closing ceremony of the intensive training of the joint support and joint training of the weapons and equipment of the PLA that the officers and men on the PLA equipment front should stick to the scientific outlook on development to guide equipment construction, intensify equipment support training, constantly deepen and expand the construction of organic and systematic combat and support capabilities of the general equipment, and further boost the innovative development of equipment support for military struggle.

　　Chang Wanquan pointed out that to carry out joint support and joint training of weapons and equipment throughout the PLA is an important measure of implementing the new Outline of Military Training and Evaluation and advancing the transformation of the equipment support training. The orientation of the joint support and joint training was specified in this intensive training and the intensive training played a role in boosting the generation of systematic equipment support capability and the implementation of the equipment preparation for military struggle.

　　Han Yanlin, deputy director of the GAD of the PLA, and Zhang Qinsheng, commander of the Guangzhou Military Area Command, were present at the intensive training.
